Last day of school

I'm finishing up my photography portfolio and will head off to oil painting class in a few minutes.  A little bit of touching up the last painting and then I'm done.  I'm going to miss this place, but look forward to doing my own work in my own studio.  Maybe I'll come back next semester and have some goodies from the Oak Cafe.

It's been ...

It's been a while folks.  Busy, busy with school and oh so tired.  In fact I'm taking a break from it next semester.  Michael and I decided to do a little camping rather than me being in class.  I'm looking forward to travelling north.

I've enjoyed my studies at ARC tremendously.  This semester I've taken an oil painting class, a black and white film photography class, and a gallery operations class.  All fun and all intensely time consuming.  I'll miss the school and all the wonderful new friends I've made there.  I think I'll see a lot of them out and about though, on second and third Saturdays.

I continue to teach a beginning hand building ceramics class each week at Allied Ceramics.  I've actually got a studio space there now so I can hang out after class and do some of my own work.  I've been helping put together the gallery shows this year.  We've had some excellent artists grace the walls and pedestals at Allied.  We're putting together our first juried show.  The opening reception will be July 20th.  If you're interested, please contact me.

I've recently sold two of my totems.  One was entered in Tony Natsoulas's show at the Blue Line Art in Roseville, and the other was at Allied Ceramics.  Very excited about that.  I'm also in the current ARC Student Show with two pieces - one ceramic plate and the other a photograph.  Maybe I'm on a roll - I better get to work...
